We are working to implement community programmes for prevention of sexual violence and rehabilitation for survivors. Although sexual violence affects both children and adults, we are currently focused on addressing child sexual abuse because children are especially vulnerable to prolonged abuse. We aim to provide assistance to adult survivors too in the future.
Change will not come if we wait for some other person, or if we wait for some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek. - Barack Obama
Our Vision is to strive for a society where both children and adults can be safe from sexual violence in any form, and survivors can get the support they need to heal and overcome trauma of past sexual abuse.
Our mission is to raise strong awareness about child sexual abuse and increase reporting rates. We also strive to identify child survivors and provide them with compassionate counselling and support services.
Child Sexual Abuse in India
Sexual abuse is a horrifying reality that often fills our minds with dreadful stories. How could anyone harm a helpless child? What kind of person does that? Are they simply heartless and lacking empathy? How do they live with themselves after committing such heinous acts? And what about the children who endure this trauma? How does it affect them? How do they even begin to cope with such a devastating experience? These questions are the driving force behind our organization (you can read more about Our Story here). As we collectively explore the depths of child sexual abuse in our society, we are deeply shaken. We have come to realize that these crimes are not isolated incidents, but sadly, all too common. Yet, they often go unnoticed and unaddressed due to the social stigma and mental conditioning that silence discussions on such "uncomfortable" topics. But how long can we ignore these realities? How long can we expect the victims of such crimes to suffer in silence, to endure and try to forget?
